Chest Tilt = muscles under the armpit pull one shoulder down to the side

Torso Tilt = muscles in the waist pull the upper body down to one side

  • Step-Hip

Chest Figure 8s Up-and-Over = chest moves up, over to one side, out and down and then back to the middle, repeat to other side

  • Dip Figure 8s
  • Snake Arms
  • Sky Reach to end with arms in V
  • Side Lunge
  • Side Lunge with ˝ Dip Figure 8 and Snake Arm + pull back
  • The Wild Nymph: lean back and wave hair

Chest Figure 8s Down-and-Under = chest moves down, over to one side, up and back to the middle, repeat to other side

  • Hip Pulls with arms rising to the side

  • Rhea: Scoop Hip Figure 8s moving side or in a circle

3D Chest Figure 8s

  • Hip 3D Figure 8s stepping back
  • Hip 3D Figure 8s stepping side to side

Body Roll Down the side of the torso

  • The Siren: Facing away from the audience, Genii Arms, step left in front of your right foot (to backstage), right hip moves back, out, forward and in with a side body roll that starts at the ribs. Reverse.
  • The Siren with a kick: make sure that your leg extends behind and not to the side of you, the toe is pointed and turns in from the hip.
  • Hip Rotation/Circles with a Body Roll Down
  • Big Single Hip Circle with a Body Roll Down
  • Body Rolls Down stepping side to side 4 count vs. 8 count (arms reverse)

Chest Wave Forward and Down = a Vertical Chest Circle Up, Forward, Down, and Back

Full

  • Melina: Forward, Step, Back, Step
  • Melina (wings): Lunge Forward with Body Roll Up (start toe, knee, hips) and bring wings from behind you to point in front of you
  • Rhea’s Ancient Greek Pose: take energy from Sky to Earth to Sky (back half of wave only)
  • Pharaonic Pose: bring hand up front of body from hip level to chest level
  • Start facing front, then jump with arms down to face side, shimmy while raising arms and looking up
  • Contemporary Back Step, Hip Down combo: Start chest lifted and forward, arms bent out to sides. On 1, step right foot back, bringing chest down and back and circling left arm in front of chest. On 2, step left foot forward, finishing Chest Wave and bring left arm up. On 3, step right foot to right and finish left arm circle so arms are out to sides again. For & 4 do a left right Hip Downs, so you are ready to step back with your left foot this time.

Front Half only

  • Melina (wings): spin with wings up, finish with lunge to side and point wings in front of chest
  • Zaar Style Hair Fling/Hip Swing: Chest moves forward, down and back on &. For 1 & 2, Flat, Toe, Flat (right, left, right) looking down at left hip, right arm swings forward. Reverse.
  • Basic Katak with hair fling

Chest Wave Forward and Up = a Vertical Chest Circle Forward, Up, Back, and Down

  • Body Rolls Down
  • Tribal: Upper Body Roll
  • Present Object: basket, cane, sword, snake
  • Rise from floor
