I cannot thank you
enough for the workshops this past weekend. You gave me not only clear a
road map of exactly how to improve my current skill level but also a solid base
to move forward to greater challenges. Also, I now feel confident that I
could introduce beginners to the art in a safe and constructive way.I look forward to
seeing you again in May!Rianna

Hi Piper, I just wanted to write a quick email to thank you for an
amazing weekend of belly dance training! I learned so much and I am really
looking forward to continuing to grow and improve in this field. I hope that I
have the opportunity to train with you again in the future. Have a safe trip
home and a wonderful holiday. Thank you! Christina
Nov. '07 Hi, I want to thank you for your articles in Zaghareet on arms
and attitude. It really helps having the pictures. I also appreciate your
suggestions about how to use the different positions. I would love to have a poster that I could set up in my
dance room. As I choreograph, it would be a reminder to use a new position and
not just fall back on the same ole'. My ideal would be for you to have such a poster (so far we
need 3 - one for each article) already done and ready for me to purchase. But
barring that - Have you had these photos published anywhere in a higher
resolution? I could make my own poster but the photos in the magazine wouldn't
stand being enlarged. Again, thank you for sharing. It's always good to push our
envelopes of knowledge. Kasha, Raleigh, NC

Hello
Piper, you
do not know me, but I had the pleasure of seeing Stephanie dance in
October for my husband's birthday party. Stephanie
did GREAT. No
one could tell that it was her first solo performance. We were especially
impressed with her tray dance, and the ladies loved the lessons she gave
afterwards.!!! Thanks for training a great entertainer. Portia
Aug. '07 Piper, I want to
"THANK YOU" for letting us be in [Belly Dance Magic]. It was a WONDERFUL
experience. You are a very stern and hard working teacher; you knew our
potential and lit the fire cracker under our tails to get us to do that dance
so well in the time we had. All my friends could not believe that we all looked
so good, and how far I had advanced
in my dancing from what they had seen before from my previous recitals. They complimented you on how professional
your show was and how they look forward to next year. I am so blessed to
have a teacher like you. I can't wait till next year. I do look
forward to the show, the classes, seeing your family again, sharing in their
stories, and working with you again. I think BellyPalooza is getting better and
better every time you have it. The vendors were great and the teachers...well
they were past excellent! Smiles, Patty

Aug. '07 Piper, I attended your In the Music Drum Solo on
Sunday. I appreciated the breakdown of the choreography
emphasizing movements and tips to accomplish them. I
would like to practice it and you mentioned that you could email the
choreography and the name of the music you were using. Thanks

I was in your Bellypalooza workshop- the Stray Cat Strut
choreography. We spoke for a few minutes after the workshop, you said you
would send me the written choreography for that piece? Thank you- it’s a really
good and fun choreography. Bellypalooza was great, I will most definitely see you next
year, or perhaps for some workshops before that. Joy and Abundance, Kristen June '07 I
just wanted to say Mahalo! Gracias! Thank you for coming to the hafla! ...and I have to say that it was a
wonderful performance--there is no word to describe it. You inspired
everyone with your solo Piper, including my husband and my father, who
said they were blown away by your artistry. I believe they said that
"you blew every other dancer out of the water." The DOR ladies were
wonderful as well--it was wonderful to see how into the music you were.
:) Anyway, I hope I made you all proud with my own performance and I
endeavor to one day reach your level and make you proud. Sincerely, Lisa May. '07
Piper, I could only wish
that one day I can dance like you! You are awesome in those videos. The sword
dance took my breath away!!!! I would love to master the
flow like you have and the control of your body. I saw your mom dancing in you. I'm sure she was and is
very proud of you. I feel so Blessed that I found you as my teacher. Thank you for sharing and I hope
that I will get better and better in the Beautiful Art of Belly Dancing. smiles, Patty Aug. '06
I coach lacrosse so I really appreciate your method and how it explains what
muscles to use and especially the fact that you emphasize the correct way to do
things to prevent an injury. Laura Dec. '05 Dear
Piper - I just wanted to tell you how beautifully you danced [at the
Raqs Glitter holiday show] last night! Your strength and presence
really stood out of the crowd. Congratulations! Both Naomi and I
discussed how lucky we are to be your students! Good job!! Rebecca
Nov. '05 Piper, Thank you so much for coming down from Baltimore
to teach your American Belly Dance Workshop that was intensive, challenging, and
so enjoyable. I've learned new techniques that I can
immediately apply to my dancing and now know what areas I need to work
on. You are a fabulous instructor and
master performer! It was an honor to meet you! Thank you again for a wonderful weekend! Sincerely, Gloria
May '05 Hello, I recently saw
Piper at the Dickinson Theater in Charlottesville. I was
blown away and inspired to learn more about this beautiful art form. Please add
me to your mailing list. I hope to see more performances on the East
Coast. Thanks, Michael

Hi Piper, I really didn't get a chance to talk to you yesterday with all of the
hustle going on with the show, but, I just wanted to say thank you very much for
inviting me along with the NDC to perform in your show. It's always a great
honor to be acknowledged by great dancers such as yourself and your school. I
had a great time and I hope that the audience and you enjoyed our performance [we did - Lotus Niraja and the NDC are faboulous!] . Thank you again for your hospitality
and faith in us as dancers.
Take Care, Na'lani Dahlal
Aug. '04 Dear Piper, hope you have some time to breathe after
Bellypalooza! After one of your classes [there], I had asked you about your
upcoming certification class and the seminar before it. I'm very interested in
your method. I think a private lesson might be more economical for me as it
would save so much in transportation. You are one
of the busiest people I've met in my life and I realize a seminar may be the
only option, so please just let me know. I'd really value your
instruction. Thanks again and best wishes all
around, Nashida
May '04 Dear Piper, I would like to thank you for the wonderful learning experiences that your classes are for me. There is nothing that I enjoy more than going to your classes. As banal as it sounds, but it changed my life. I started taking classes just to learn some moves and to feel more confident to dance in public, but it turned out to be much more than just that. I feel free, strong, and I am learning some much about the dance, the culture, and about myself. I never liked dancing before and now it is so important to me that I cannot imagine ever giving up my bellydance classes. I look forward every class and every chance I get to practice at home. I have taken classes with 4 teachers, and, without a doubt, you are the best. You motivate me so much. And not by just being an awesome instructor, but also by being a great example of a woman that can do anything and everything: smart, beautiful, successful, and strong. It is so easy to slip up and doubt yourself and give up. But when I think about what you have accomplished in your life - I try harder; because when I see that you can balance being the bellydancer of the year, a wonderful instructor, a mother, and a PhD, I believe that anything is possible. And that's why I try harder and push myself and hope to achieve what you have been able to achieve one day. Looking forward practicing those body rolls and shimmies again on Monday! Natalya
