Jan '06 Hi Piper, I wish I had some photos
of your mom but don't believe I do, however I have a troupe photo of
her students from Cal. State Hayward where I studied Art.
I am serious when I say I went to college and learned to belly
dance. I just happened to pass by the dance gym one evening and
heard chi chins, opened the door and beheld all these women in full
regalia. The dancers followed each other in a big circle and
there was Rhea teaching from the heart center. She is embeded in my
memory ..her dancing style, her face and costumes - especially the silver coin
belt and top that she let me borrow once. Her doctor told her it was too heavy
therefore harmful [for her back]. Boy, it was a real treat to watch her perform at
the Greek place in North Beach S.F. What an exciting performer and never a
dull moment...simply captivating! Well I am so happy
for all your family's artistic success......I plan to call your mom and will
send photo, the one I took of you an any others I find. Love [Melina's] mission statement! Cio for now...Napua

Hi, Piper - I went to see your mom [Rhea] perform at the Funk Box last night. I talked to her for a
few minutes in Greek. What a wonderful and interesting life she has fashioned
for herself. She's amazing! You've got good family genes! Hope to see you soon. Mary
Aug. '04 Dear Rhea, thanks for the "Heads-up" about your show [at the Funk Box] last night. "Forced" my husband to come with me - he was amazed. What great fun! Could you let me know the name of Ian's & Jason"s group [that would be Telesma]? Their music is wonderful & what great music to dance to! Also really enjoyed the BMA show as well. Can't wait for more. Shimmy on, Rose Duke
